VALIDATING hYPOTHESES
After testing the MVP with users, dermatologists, and internal stakeholders, I evaluated whether the initial product assumptions were supported by real user behavior and feedback. The objective was to identify which hypotheses were validated, which required refinement, and what improvements should be prioritized before expanding the product.
VALIDATING hYPOTHESES
Hypothesis 1
We believe that users will trust an AI-powered skin analysis only if it is clearly validated by dermatologists and explained transparently.
We will know this is true when at least 60% of users say they would act on AI recommendations when paired with doctor validation, but not AI alone.
✅ Validated
After conducting 1:1 interviews with 7 users and remote interviews with 4 users, the findings strongly supported this hypothesis. More than 60% of participants stated they were comfortable following AI-generated skin recommendations only when the results were backed by certified dermatologists and accompanied by clear explanations.
✅ Validated
More than 50% of users said they were unlikely to continue after the initial AI scan without clear next steps. Users expected dermatologist validation, progress tracking, personalized recommendations, and reminders to stay engaged.
Hypothesis 2
We believe that without strong trust signals and follow-up engagement, users will drop off after the first AI scan.
We will know this is true when more than 50% of users do not proceed to consultation, product action, or follow-up in the absence of doctor validation, reminders, or progress tracking.
⚠️ Partially Validated
While more than 60% of users said they delayed dermatology visits due to time, cost, or inconvenience, a few participants still preferred in person consultations for serious skin concerns. Users viewed digital solutions as a convenient first step, but not a complete replacement for professional care.
Hypothesis 3
We believe that
health-conscious, mobile-first users with skin concerns avoid traditional dermatology because it feels time-consuming, expensive, or confusing.
We will know this is true when at least 60% of interviewed users say they delay or avoid clinic visits and actively seek digital alternatives for skin guidance.
